It was the last few weeks of October 2006 that I made a promise to myself to never miss another harvest. The experience of working harvest in Santa Maria and living in Los Olivos made lasting impressions.  With friendships and relationships in place, 2007 will be the inaugural vintage for k.furtado wines.

This first release of k. furtado wine will be made from 3 tons of syrah from both Alisos and McGinley Vineyards.  Located in Santa Barbara County; warm days and cool nights make these vineyards ideally suited for syrah.  McGinley is farmed by Central Coast Vineyard Services and the legendary viticulturist Jeff Newton.

Without the help of my wine making mentor and friend, Seth Kunin, this harvest would not be possible.  Seth’s generosity of knowledge and passion is an integral part of my wine.  Also, in no particular order, I would like to thank, my family, Noel and the entire staff at Cuatro Vientos Vineyard, Brian L., Max, Pants, Thomas, Richard and CC.

There is limited availability for the first release. Email kevin@kevinfurtado.com for more information.
